Maxi all the way!

When maxi dresses first came on the fashion scene I was a little dubious as I till imagined a long flowing dress as a rather glamorous and 'prom' like attire.

Now with every high street store having their own individual prints and designs of the maxi dresses  I absolutely love them. They can be effortlessly stylish or as dressed up as you like, depending on the material you choose and the design.

I have put together a collection of my favourite maxi dresses that are available on the high street right now from the casual to the little more extravagant.

And the maxi skirts....
A new found love of mine!

I think the maxi fashion is ultra flattering and can hide a multitude of sins! Much better than the mini fashion!

What do you think of the Maxi fashion?

Glossy Box- July

This was my first Glossy Box to be delivered even though I had signed up in May! I think the launch went alot better than the GB team anticipated and so they ran out of GB's to send out at first!

And judging from this months offerings I can see why many people are as enthusiastic about it as I am!

With 3 out of 5 items being full sized, who can complain at that!? Although GB has said that this won't be a regular occurrence in every box, it is still a lovely surprise when they do send one!

In my July Summer 2011 Glossy Box I received:

Ciate Nail enamel in Mojito (Full Size)- A very vivid lime green colour which I have to admit I wouldn't purchase myself, but it isn't bad and is certainly very different! I don't think I would run out of it anyway as I doubt I will be using it very often!

Illamasqua Powdered metal in Ether (Full Size) a gorgeous gold shimmery colour that would work beautifully as a highlighter on the face and body, can be used lightly for a subtle sheen or if used quite heavily can be equally as striking! I was so excited to receive a full size Illamasqua product as I have want to try them for a long time but just never had the spare funds to justify their prices! A lovely product and perfect for a holiday shimmer!

Orla Kiely perfume sample- A lovely little flower shaped bottle which contains a 5ml sample of Orla Kiely eau de parfum! Not my usual taste of perfume but a lovely scent non the less! A very fresh smelling fragrance that is feminine and girly without being sickly sweet.

Ultra Sun Face 30- sun cream- not too impressed with this product as I have never really seen sun cream as a 'beauty' product so to speak. It is more of a necessity when in the sun, and less of a high end product. I have yet to try this product properly but it is a fairly light consistency and sinks into the skin fairly quickly and easily.

Weleda pomegranate regenerating body oil (Full Size) Again another full size product which is absolutely astonishing as it sells on the GB website for £19.95! A lovely scent and makes skin lovely and soft! I have heard a few bloggers mentioning whether they could use it as a kind of 'Moroccan oil' for their hair, so I will give it a try and let you know whether it makes your hair as soft as it makes your skin!

Overall pretty impressed with the products I received in this months Glossy Box! Unbelievable value in that 3 products are full size with value ranging between £9(nail polish) £19.95(weleda oil) and £22.50 (powered metal) plus two other generous sample items all for £10! Doesn't seem right does it! But it is! You can cancel at any time you like and get to keep all products you receive!

Looking at their website their is a few items that others received that I would have preferred to receive but it is the luck of the draw I suppose! And that's what makes it it such a surprise when you open your Glossy Box!

Visit the Glossy Box website here

I would give this months glossy box 8/10

GOSH Purple heart nail polish

This nail polish looked really unusual in the bottle it almost has a 'petrol' effect if you know what I mean by that? Like greens and purple hues, a different look from every angle.

Although once it was on the nail it wasn't as effective and was rather disappointing.

From some angles you could see what you can see in the bottle but I wanted it to be obvious when on the nails so much so it would be noticeable to other people and a talking point! I always like to be different!

Overall
The overall colour on the nail was gorgeous though, even though I was a little disappointed that it didn't look quite like it did in the bottle, the purple colour that it did have was a beautiful colour and in the end I was happy with the polish!

Colour
Purple

Price
£5.00

Do you have any GOSH nail polishes?

F.O.T.N- Barbie Lips

This is a typical way that I will wear my make up on a night out. I love the drama of false lashes and generally anything goes when it comes to my evening make up I will often be quite random with make up that I put together.

These pictures were taken at the end of the evening (because I forgot to take them at the beginning oops!)

But I do think however that it shows the longevity of the make up even after a few hours out for an evening.

Apart from as you will see one of my lashes is coming off! eeek!!! This annoys me every time I go out and I think I will have to invest in some better glue as at the moment I always use the lil tubes that come with the lashes! I am sure you will see it but just for you I will give it the hoop of horror!!!

Products:
Maxfactor lasting finish foundation
Maxfactor facefinity compact powder
Asda George Blush in number 4 'cheeky'

ELF Liner and Shadow stick- Purple,Green and Black

I bought these a while ago but wanted to give them a good test before I wrote a review on them.

Both shadow and liner are very soft, creamy products which glide onto the eye. This however does cause the liner to smudge fairly easily, so if your looking for a liner with staying power this may not be the one for you.

The purple also stains the lid a little if you wear it alone. It leaves a quite pinky colour where the liner has been applied and so makes the eye look quite sore! Even if it isn't ! Not a good look to be honest!

GREEN/MOSS

BLACK/SMOKE

PURPLE/PLUM

As you can see from the 'purple' liner it is not purple at all! I would say it is more a mauve colour than a purple, but it does still compliment the plum liner.

OVERALL

I must say I was rather disappointed with these products although for the price, I don't feel as cheated as I would if I had spent a lot more on the liners. I would recommend them if you like playing with colours and wearing alternate colours often as the price makes it still affordable to buy 2 or 3!

PRODUCT

ELF Studio Eyeliner and Shadow Stick in Black/Smoke, Purple/Plum and Green/Moss.

PRICE £3.50 each (although I bought them with a promotion for £1 each)

WHERE CAN YOU BUY IT?

www.eyeslipsface.co.uk  >Studio> Eyes> Eyeliner and shadow sticks

SCORE:6/10

Have you tried the ELF shadow sticks? What did you think?

My Dream Beauty lust's.....

Having the budget of a student has draw backs often and it can get.. well pretty annoying.

There are so many beauty products that I would love to indulge in but when I have my sensible head on, I know there are more important things I have to pay for.

Although sometimes I do give in to temptation and as this is only a rare occurrence my list of lusts tends to be very long!

I thought I would share with you my list and see what you think?

Do you have any of the items and would recommend them? Or you have tried them and didn't like them?

There are many items to list, which i won't bore you with but heres a selection of my favourite few ...

MY BEAUTY LUSTS

What do you think? Do you have the same beauty wishes?
