Nails of the week... understated glamour...

Hello Lovelies!

This is the polish I am wearing this week.

I am a huge fan of bright coloured nails but sometimes it does call for a more toned down colour.

I often find myself looking at polishes and picking up the same colours just a slightly different shade from the last!

However I don't often have colour on my nails as I have acrylics done every 4 weeks, so when I have the chance I love to have a new gorgeous colour on!

This polish is by Ciate and the shade is 'Bon Bon'

It is such a natural shade but with added glamour! It is a beige/lilac colour and looks fab on!

I really do rate Ciate polishes they glide on easily and give a super glossy finish once dry.

This sweet polish as nudged its way into my top favourite polishes it is simply gorgeous!

I got this polish free in a magazine a while ago and hadn't used it until recently! I think it may have been Marie Claire magazine!

But I think they retail at £9 per bottle.

Barry M lilac polish 308

I am such a big fan of pastel polish I think they are just so cute and girly! I have had a very similar lilac polish from Models Own before this one but with the slight price difference (models own at £5 and Barry M at £2.99) Barry M was the clear choice. I am always confident that Barry M polishes are going to be good so choosing the cheaper one was a no brainer.

Barry M Nail Paint in 308 Berry l/c

Exact dupe for Models Own Lilac Dream.... Both available here

A perfect colour for spring....

Black so chic...

Black polish made a glamorous come back a number of years ago. Black polish is often associated with the grungy or gothic look. Yet a number of fashion houses showed us how black can be glamorous....super shiny of course.

I love the super shiny black nail look but I always find black polish is so hard to get right because it has to be an absolutely perfect manicure in my opinion to look ever so chic! Here's my attempt, not as perfect as I would of liked but I tried!

The polish I used is by Rimmel Lasting Finish in Black Cab with a UV Gel topcoat for extra shine....

What do you think? do you like black polish?

Barry M Nail Paint Haul

I love Barry M Nail Paints as many other bloggers do!

I have lots of different colours, so I am always looking out for a new one colour to add to my collection!

I have grouped together here a few of my Barry M nail paints that I have not yet blogged about, all here in the one post for your convenience! :)

from left to right:

264-pink iridescent
305-pink flamingo
279-bright pink
312-indigo
293-grey

This is a gorgeous Blue almost a violet/blue colour.

The pink iridescent is great as a top coat although with a few coats can be gorgeous looking on its own!

I love my pink polishes and these are two of my favs! Pink flamingo being a coral coloured pink and bright pink a more Barbie pink colour.

As always the consistency of Barry M nail paints are always good and the price is even better at £2.99!

Here are some pictures and swatches of the beautiful colours...

Happy Holidays everyone!

Lots of love

Mavala Nail Care

I recently got these little beauties off a friend, and they are fantastic.

I have :
Base coat (002)
Polish drier (mavadry)
top coat (colourfix)

They are brilliant products and the polish drier and top coat work wonders!

All together they really do increase the longevity of my polish!

Check out the Mavala website for stockist, but I think these products are widely available at Debenham's, but do check the website to be sure!

Models Own Aqua Violet Beetlejuice collection

PRODUCT: MODELS OWN AQUA VIOLET POLISH
COLOUR: AQUA VIOLET
PRICE: £5

I couldn't wait for the launch of the Beetle juice collection from Models Own.

Truly gorgeous colours and unusual effect. I like to be different and these certainly are!

This is the whole collection.....

I chose Aqua Violet from this range which is fourth along in this above picture.

The polish is a fairly runny consistency which is annoying as it can blob everywhere!
So don't be wearing you best clothes when applying!

So on to Aqua Violet....
A gorgeous colour, it reminds me of  the effect petrol has on the ground...

Models Own Emerald City glitter polish

I haven't owned a glitter polish in a long while, but they have become incredibly more sophisticated over the years haven't they? Gorgeous colours are available and good quality brands are creating them.

PRODUCT:MODELS OWN GLITTER POLISH
COLOUR: EMERALD CITY
PRICE:£5

I recently chose this polish as it is just a gorgeous colour! The pictures I have really don't do it justice, the Models Own stock photo however is a little better colour wise.
Check it out HERE

It is a gorgeous dare I say 'Emerald green', I think the clue is in the title of that one! :)
A great Christmas tree green and super sparkly.

Like I said my pictures really don't do the colour of this gorgeous polish justice but that's just because of my camera! Its not that good really!

The coverage on the last picture here is achieved by 3 coats! And if you are a perfectionist like me you will be able to see it still isn't a full coverage! So I would definitely put another coat on. With one coat it is almost completely sheer with fine green glitter.

The thing to note here though is this is the polish straight onto the natural nail with no base colour. I think is would also look great with a base polish underneath, also this would then require less coats of glitter! :)

What do you think?
