That weighty issue...

After all the Christmas indulgence don't we all begin to think that we must do something about it?

I have been following the Weight Watchers plan for a while now and my journey has been up and down to say the least! I combine my sensible eating with exercise, mainly walking.

Over Christmas I refuse to diet, I just don't see the point! Its family time and eating time!

So now its all over and I gained 3lb over the festive period!! Not bad, although still disappointing!

I've decided to kick start my weight loss again by getting a good and most importantly fun exercise regime in place. I really do recommend the Weight Watchers plan if you are thinking about losing weight, its an easy and excellent way of losing weight safely. The best thing about the plan is that it changes the way you think about food and eventually you do (honestly!) prefer and choose the healthier option of food choices!

So my new fun exercise routine, I shall let you know how I get on! I am going to start ice skating , swimming and walking. All once a week for 1.5 to 2 hours :) What do you think? I'm quite looking forward to it really! I love ice skating and look at all those trim bums n tums on Dancing on Ice! Good for toning I am thinking! Which is my main aim!

How about my lovely followers? Are you thinking of a new plan of action for a healthier new year?

Lots of love

A very long Journey....

I have realised this week I haven't blogged about my weight watchers for a while now.

So I thought it was time for a bit of an update on the whole scales situation... if you are a regular reader you will probably be able to see the difference in my face and body posts from way back at start to those I am posting now. I officially began weight watchers on 16th March 2011 and now my latest weigh in is 21st December.

My start weight was: 11st 8.5 lb
My current weight: 10st 3lb

I have so far lost 19.5 lbs and I feel great!!!!

I have done it slowly, had great weeks, bad weeks, very bad weeks when I have packed it all in for a week or two, but I am finally nearly there and I am so glad a got back on the waggon and carried on. That sense of achievement is immense and makes you feel like it has all been worthwhile!

My Goal weight has change a couple of times as I wasn't happy being that little bit heavier so I decreased it slightly. My current goal weight is 10stone on the dot, as at 5 foot 7inches tall I am lucky I can carry it well.
This weight is still when within my recommended BMI, which is important to be a good healthy weight.

Not long to go now, just 3lb, although with Christmas just 3 days away I somehow think it may take me a little bit longer than two weeks to lose this last stubborn 3lb!

If you are on your weight watchers journey whether just starting, thinking of starting in the New Year or like me nearly there, please leave a comment below about your journey. Encouragement is the key in weight loss, when you have the support of those around you it is an unbelievable advantage!

I haven't been organised enough to have taken a before picture but here is a comparison between two pictures, the first taken around starting the weight watchers plan and the second picture being the most recent picture I have of myself, from 2 weeks ago :)

Happy Holidays everyone!!

love always

A little update on the Weight Watchers journey...

So as you all know, my weight watchers journey has been somewhat up and down! I have had great weeks bad weeks and sometimes just so so weeks. But for the past couple of weeks It hasn't been too bad!

The weight is coming off steadily now and I have lost 13lbs altogether which isn't bad I don't think!

Although it has been 19 weeks of ups and downs, losing and then putting on again!

It is tough to keep going sometimes and not just reach for the takeaway menu!

If you are on your own weight loss journey what keeps you going?

I try not to deprive myself  but obviously don't indulge too much and watch my portion size. Weight watcher's helps you along with a healthy way of mind and after 19 weeks I now feel like I have retrained my brain enough to choose the better option because I want it, enjoy it and prefer it!

I have only got another 3.5lb to go so hopefully I will be there soon enough!!

Lots of Love

Weight Watcher's Update...

Well, I well and truly fell off the weight watchers wagon for the past 3 weeks. I have been poorly which didn't help my motivation at all and also sometimes once you start to feel good about your weigh loss its harder to carry on because you don't have that 'hatred' of your weight that you once had when you started. Or maybe that's just me!

So I have decided to get back to it! I have to

So off I went to the weigh in and was to be honest pretty nervous, I had been away for almost 3 weeks, full of cakes, chocs, take aways and well things that weigh watchers cringe at!

I stepped on the scales and had put on ... only 1/2 a pound I was sooo pleased and it proves that weight watchers does retrain your brain to make the healthier choices.

Now one week on and the next weigh in I had stayed the same... this last 8lb is proving increasingly difficult, but now I am determined to get it off!

I have an outing coming up this week for my boyfriends birthday and we are off for a meal at pizza express. Now Pizza and weight watchers hmmm.. may be a concern although after a look through their website I discovered they now have the new 'Leggera' range which are all the lighter options, and it is supported by Weight watchers so you will find the points calculations for many of the meal options worked out on their website.

So good all around hey! I can celebrate with him and keep on track.. lovely! :)

Well I will get there eventually I hope!

Are you having an up and down weight watchers journey?

A very long....Weight Watcher's Update.

Well... another good week of Weight Watchers

A loss of 1.5lb this week which is fab!!

Sometimes I find it so so hard to keep on track, especially at the moment with Easter eggs all around... this has been my main downfall.

Some days I think ohh I will be ok a little bit won't hurt, but then a little bit turns into a lot and then before I know it the whole lot is gone. I have however been balancing this out by exercising, mainly bike rides around the scenic sights of my local countryside, which with the gorgeous weather we have been having lately it is nice to be out and about.

Although the week that I put weight on, this was the week that I didn't exercise, so I am kinda scared to stop exercising at the moment in case I put weight on!

I am not far from my goal weight now, only another 10lb to go and having lost 8lb so far in 6 weeks, hopefully it will not take me too long to get to my goal in time for my holiday in July!

It is amazing the prejudice that surrounds weight and indeed weight-loss, people have a perception that if they think that you look slim their answer is, 'what are you moaning about?' I experienced this at my  meeting last week and for a split second I let it upset me, I realised soon enough that this lady was in a way complementing me, in a round about way. I don't believe that there should be pressure on people to  conform to how others want them to be. If you are a beautiful big girl and are happy with the way you look and your weight then who cares about anyone else's opinion and on the other hand if you are slim but feel that little bit uncomfortable and think you would be happier losing a few pounds then who's to say you can't!

It is all about confidence and how you feel about yourself inside that counts and the people around you who love you, will love you for who you  are whatever shape or size that you are.

I do enjoy the way weight watchers is formatted compared to other diets because that's just it, it isn't a diet. You can eat what you want and how much, you just have to re train yourself to pick the healthier options that are out there, we are all sensible enough to realise that a huge plate of fruit and veg is much better than a big slice of chocolate fudge cake, although for me the cake mostly wins! :)

But for some reason with going to the Weight Watcher meeting each week it stops me from cheating because I know the next week I have to stand in front of someone and get weighed! It might not be for everyone but it works for me.

Sorry for this random ramble on for well.. toooo long :) but I have kind of written in a stream of conciousness so I hope it makes sense to you guys!

Lots of Love

Easter eggs are NOT a weight watchers friend....

So... a little update on my Weight Watcher journey for this week... not a good one really :(

1lb on this week! boooo !! :( Although I half expected it as I ate a full Easter egg on Saturday night! oops!

Im sorry but it is tough when they are all around the house AND only £1 at Asda! :)

Anyway, i've got back on the wagon today and hopefully will exercise my butt off this week and try and get rid of that 1lb!

It is hard not to just give in and quit but I feel so much better being more controlled over what I eat, more energy and actually know my body is getting what it needs rather than too much chocolate and biscuits!

So anyone struggling like me stick with it! I know it is really hard through the weeks when you put on weight but the feeling when you have lost the weight is amazing! Really gives you your boost back so i'm hoping for this next week!

Got to stay positive!

Lots of Love

Weight Watcher's Update

Just a small update on my weight watchers journey!

Last week wasn't a very good week as I only lost 1/2lb! booo! :(

So I did get a bit disheartened this week and thought about giving up and reaching for the cream cakes again!

Although my weigh in was yesterday and this week I have lost 2lb!! woohooo!!

and ALSO received my 'silver 7' sticker as I have lost 7 1/2lbs so far!

I have regained my drive again for this so I am pleased I managed to lose more this week!

Only 11lb to go!

How are you getting on with your weight loss journey?

If you are struggling like I was don't give up!

The Diary of a Weight Watcher....

Well, I began my Weight Watchers journey once again last week to shift a few pounds before Summer.

I generally do quite well with eating healthy although I am a big chocolate lover and this is where I also pile on the pounds.... Firstly I am not obese or largely over weight, but I think weight is a very personal issue and you know when you are carrying a few extra pounds that you don't want to be carrying!

I began to feel uncomfortable again (I did lose weight with Weight Watchers 2 years ago) and so to my nearest meeting I went, and joined.

I hope you don't mind me sharing this with all of you... maybe you are on a weight loss journey too?

Now today is my first weigh in since joining last Wednesday and according to weight watchers if you follow their  plan you can expect to lose between 1 and 2lb per week! A healthy and steady way to lose weight without depriving yourself. This is the main  thing I love about weight watchers, you can eat what you want, just in moderation and sensible choices.

So... I have just got back from my first weigh in and have lost....(drum roll...) 5lb !
So delighted!
Although I am presuming this is just my body adjusting to my change of eating and I will only lose 1-2lb in other weeks.

Happy Happy Happy!!! :)

I will be reporting back every week so you can follow my progress and hopefully my success!!

Lots of Love
